Changing relationships through peaceful conflict resolution
We achieve our Mission by:
Mediation works because each party involved is fully heard. The parties' concerns and needs are addressed and met through the settlement agreement they reach. It is their own agreement, not one created or imposed on them by others. Therefore, it is much more likely to be a lasting settlement than if imposed by a court, hearing officer or arbitrator. We like to think of this as developing a do-able and durable agreement.
Mediation is a peaceful alternate means of conflict resolution, where disputes can be settled satisfactorily without going to court.
Conciliator acts as an impartial go-between and facilitator. The conciliator usually speaks with each person separately by phone.
Facilitators work with group leaders in advance of the facilitation to develop an appropriate plan, then guides the meetings; helping to generate the most workable solutions.
